What

Green Crystal is an emerging movement to create an impartial organization that functions to enhance the capacity for the peaceful settlement of disputes as described in Article 33 of the United Nations Charter[1] through the use of voluntary mediation.  This impartial organization will be endorsed and respected by states and their governments, but will operate independently of them, either as an inter-governmental organization (IGO) or as a non-governmental organization (NGO).  The mission of Green Crystal will be to provide quality mediation, conflict prevention and conflict resolution services for state and non-state actors engaged in inter-state, intra-state and non-state conflict.  Green Crystal will deliver mediation services in situations that have the potential to affect the peaceful relations between or within nations, and will work within track 1,2 and 3 diplomatic channels.

Green Crystal  defines mediation as a voluntary, facilitated intervention that embraces a collaborative, interest-based, problem-solving process founded on the core values of impartiality, confidentiality and good faith.

The vision is to build an international organization with a mandate to serve the international community by providing mediation in places of need upon invitation of those affected by the conflict or potential conflict.

Green Crystal mediators work in and through local offices by using developing and sustainable mediation capacities and are structured and orchestrated globally through Governmental, NGO and UN recognition.

[1] Article 33 of the UN Charter states:

The parties to any dispute, the continuance of which is likely to endanger the maintenance of international peace and security, shall, first of all, seek a solution by negotiation, enquiry, mediation, conciliation, arbitration, judicial settlement, resort to regional agencies or arrangements, or other peaceful means of their own choice.
